Sri Lanka's cultural triangle packs more UNESCO heritage into a square of land than almost anywhere on earth. Three ancient capitals — Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya — rose and fell here over 2,000 years. This six-day loop visits the finest: the frescoed rock fortress of Sigiriya at dawn, the moonstone-paved ruins of Polonnaruwa, the great painted caves of Dambulla, and the living royal capital of Kandy, where the Temple of the Tooth has housed the Buddha's relic for five centuries.
History here is not behind glass — it's open sky, jackfruit trees, and the sound of temple drums at dusk.
